Cleco provides estimated restoration times

Sep 13, 2024

Roughly 5,000 customers without power

Yesterday was the first day of Hurricane Francine power restoration efforts, and Cleco restored power to all but 5,000 customers.

"We are proud of our crews, and are still hard at work to restore power to our remaining customers,” said Clint Robichaux, director of distribution operations and reliability.

Parish # of customers without power as of 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 13
Washington 42
St. Mary 4,684
St. Tammany 464

Cleco has assessed damage across 95 percent of the affected areas and found 67 broken poles and 390 spans of downed wire.

“Now that most of the impacted areas have been assessed for damage, we are able to offer additional estimated times for power restoration,” said Robichaux. “We expect full power restoration in St. Tammany and Washington parishes by Saturday, and customers in St. Mary Parish will be restored by Sunday.”

In addition to Cleco resources, the company has over 1,700 contractors working to clear debris, make system and equipment repairs, and restore power.
