PINEVILLE, La. – Cleco, in partnership with the RocketKidz Foundation, is presenting the 2018 Louisiana Triathlon on May 5 in New Roads, La.  Over 400 athletes will participate in an 800-meter swim, 80-mile bike ride and 5K run.

“Cleco is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 29th Annual Louisiana Triathlon, promoting health and wellness in communities across Louisiana,” said Eric Schouest, Cleco vice president.  “Cleco is committed to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve and has a long history of philanthropic giving across Louisiana.”

The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. Athletes may compete in four divisions: Individual Age Group, Beginner Athlete, Open Relay or Duathlon.  The race is scheduled to end at 10 a.m. with an awards ceremony and festival at The Landing on False River in New Roads, La.  Guests are encouraged to stay after the race for live music, food and local vendors.
