Cleco Power LLC
Cleco Power LLC, the foundation of Cleco Corp., has been in the electric utility business since 1934. The only investor-owned electric utility in the state that serves Louisiana exclusively, Cleco Power provides power to approximately 265,000 residential and commercial customers in
23 parishes throughout the state, as far north as Mansfield and as far south as Patterson

It houses the corporation's utility operations and assets, including 11,000 miles of distribution circuits, 1,200 miles of transmission circuits, and

The company has received five national awards for its response to hurricanes. Cleco Power received the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Emergency Response Award for the team effort it took in 2005 to recover from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the most devastating storms to ever hit the company's system back to back, and for Hurricane Lili in 2002. Cleco Power received EEI's Emergency Response Assistance Award for helping restore power to residents of Florida, Alabama and Mississippi who were affected by Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne in 2004 and residents of Virginia and North Carolina after Hurricane Isabel in 2003. In 2009 Cleco received the EEI Award for its response to Hurricanes Gustav and Ike in 2008.
