
Customer Fees and Charges
- Connection charge - This fee partially covers the cost of making service available.
During regular working hours $25 After hours $60 - Reconnection charge - If your power is disconnected for nonpayment, you will be required to pay your bill plus a reconnect charge before your power can be turned back on.
During regular working hours $30 After hours $65 - Late payment charge - If your bill is not paid by the due date, an additional amount will be due. The total amount is shown on your bill as "Amount Due After."
5 percent for the first $1,000 and 2 percent on any amount over $1,000
- NSF check charge - A fee is charged for handling and collecting returned checks.
$25 or 5% of the face value of the original check, whichever is greater - Verification of meter reading - Customers may request one meter read verification at no cost per calendar year. Additional meter read verifications are completed for a fee.
Meter read verification $12 - Meter test charge - Customers may request one meter read test at no cost per calendar year. Additional meter read tests are completed for a fee.
Meter test $20 - Meter re-seal charge - A service charge is assessed to re-seal a meter seal cut by the customer.
Meter re-seal $20 - Meter tampering charges - Fees are assessed for electricity diversion or meter tampering. This is to offset the cost associated with investigating and rebilling the tampered account.
First tampering offense $100 Second tampering offense $200 Third tampering offense $500 - Customer problem charge - This fee is assessed if Cleco dispatches a truck and technician to investigate an electrical problem that turns out to be on the customer’s side of the meter.
