What is the Speedpay service?
Speedpay takes Cleco payments over the telephone or Internet. For each payment, Speedpay charges a $3.50 convenience fee. The service is available 24 hours a day.
How can I access the Speedpay service?
You can call Speedpay at 1-866-735-7739, or use the service online. The Cleco Web site, cleco.com, has a direct link to the Speedpay site under the ?pay my bill" menu. Or you can go directly to Speedpay.com.
What payment methods can I use again?
MasterCard, VISA or Discover credit, debit or ATM card.Speedpay will also accept payments made on your bank checking or savings accounts. If you pay by electronic check, your payment will come out of your account right away.
How much can I pay?
You can pay any amount below or above the total amount due up to $2,000. Any amount paid over $2,000 will be charged another convenience fee of $3.50.
Do I need to sign up to use the service?
There are no sign up or approval requirements to use the service.
How does Cleco Power know I made the payment?
Cleco receives confirmation of payments each hour from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on regular work days.
Do I get a confirmation number when I make my payment?
Yes. Please make note of the number for your records.
What information do I need to use the system?
You need your 13-digit Cleco account number (found on the upper right-hand corner of your bill statement) and your mailing address Zip code.If paying by credit/debit card, you will also need your credit/debit card billing zip code if different from your mailing address.
If I need help with the Speedpay transaction, what do I do?
Phone transactions will offer Speedpay customer service help during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m, excluding holidays. The toll-free customer service line number is posted on the Speedpay Web site.
If I have been disconnected for non-payment, what should I do?
You should not use the Speedpay payment option if you have been disconnected for non-payment unless you have prearranged to do so with a Cleco customer service representative.
How long does it take before my payment is deducted from my banking account?
Your payment will be deducted from your banking account in about 24 to 72 hours.
If I incorrectly make a payment on my Cleco bill through Speedpay, how do I get the payment corrected?
If the error was discovered before 7:00 pm on the same day as the payment, you should call the Speedpay customer service line. If the error was discovered after the 7:00 pm cut-off, you should speak to a Cleco customer service representative.
