Black Bayou Lake Refuge

In June 2001, Cleco partnered with Friends of Black Bayou to build an observation tower at the Black Bayou Lake refuge in Monroe.

Cleco's donation funded the design and construction of the observation tower on the fourth lake of the national wildlife refuge.

The tower is handicapped accessible and adjacent to a cypress/tupelo gum wetland area that supports an abundance of wildlife and waterfowl.
