Cleco crews continue working to restore power after powerful thunderstorms

Pineville, La., April 29, 2020 (6:30 p.m. update) – As of 6:30 p.m., Cleco has restored power to all but 654 of the nearly 20,000 customers who lost electricity after powerful thunderstorms moved through the company’s service territory earlier today.

“Our crews will continue to work through the evening and into dark to restore power to the remaining 654 customers who can receive power with the exception of camps in the Grassy Lake area along the Red River and a few camps in DeSoto and Natchitoches parishes,” said James Lass, director of distribution operations and emergency management.  “These thunderstorms were widespread hitting almost all of the parishes we serve, and we appreciate our customers’ patience as crews continue working to safely and efficiently restore power.”

Call Cleco at 1-800-622-6537 and 911 to report an unsafe situation with electricity.
