Cleco prepared for storms

Pineville, La., May 3, 2017 – As strong storms move across Louisiana, Cleco crews are working to restore power to customers experiencing outages, as well as continuing to prepare crews and equipment for more severe weather expected to pass through the state later tonight and into tomorrow morning. 

“The National Weather Service estimates the rain will end between 9 p.m. and midnight in central Louisiana, 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. for southwest Louisiana and between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. for south central Louisiana,” said James Lass, general manager of distribution operations and emergency management.  “Our crews will continue restoration efforts through the night and into tomorrow.”

As of 5:15 p.m., Cleco had 5,448 customers experiencing power outages.
