Storms leave Cleco customers without power

Pineville, La., May 29, 2017 – Storms moved through Cleco’s service territory late last night and this morning causing widespread power outages.  Currently, 9,500 Cleco customers are without power.

At the height of the storm, roughly 15,000 Cleco customers were without power.  Cleco estimates that 70 percent of these customers will have power restored tonight, leaving some customers without power through tomorrow night.

“All available Cleco crews and 12 contractor crews will continue to work until power is restored,” said James Lass, general manager of distribution operations and emergency management. “We ask that our customers with medical needs and small children make arrangements for tonight.”
