Federal Tax Credits for Home Energy Upgrades
Home energy upgrades are becoming increasingly popular as more people seek to save money and reduce their environmental impact. However, the initial cost of these upgrades can be expensive, which is why federal tax incentives (and Power Wise programs) can be a great help.
The Inflation Reduction Act passed in 2022 expanded and extended a series of tax credits for home energy improvements and clean energy upgrades. The tax credits apply to a variety of upgrades, including insulation, windows, doors, and roofing.
