In 2020, Cleco’s Inclusion Culture Council designed the Power of a Promise Scholarship for junior and senior high school students who demonstrate a financial need and who plan to attend Central Louisiana Technical Community College Alexandria Campus to pursue a degree in cyber security, industrial manufacturing technology, or a certificate in the Line Worker Training Program.

Line Worker Program
Lets you master real-world skills in a hands-on environment, where you'll learn skills like operating industrial vehicles, pole-climbing, cable laying and stringing, line testing and inspecting, and safety procedures. What are the eligibility requirements?
- Admitted to CLTCC’s Alexandria campus (admission application must be on file with CLTCC, and you must be admitted prior to receiving funds).
- Interested in pursuing a Career in cyber security, industrial manufacturing, or as a power line technician.
- Demonstrated financial needs ($75,000 or lower adjusted gross family income or Pell Grant eligibility).
- Eligible to work in United States (an active work visa is acceptable).
- Classified as a high school junior or senior in the State of Louisiana during the scholarship application year.
- On track to earn a high school diploma with a minimum 2.0 GPA and a minimum of Bronze on the ACT WorkKeys® assessments.
- Have a combination of attributes: High academic performance, financial need, personal accomplishments, extracurricular activities, awards and recognition, community service, work history, desire to seek a Career & Technical Education from CLTCC and acceptance into the Industrial Manufacturing Technology Program or Line Worker Training Program.

When is the application period?
Although subject to change, the application period is normally Sept. 1 - March 15. Scholarship recipients are announced in April.
