Cleco and North American-led Investor Group issue statement in response to Louisiana Public Service Commission's decision regarding transaction
PINEVILLE, La. - Today, the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) decided not to allow the sale of Cleco Corporation (NYSE:CNL), the parent of regulated electric utility Cleco Power LLC, to a group of North American infrastructure investors led by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC), with John Hancock Financial and other infrastructure investors (collectively, the investor group). LPSC approval is a prerequisite to the sale.
Cleco and the North American-led investor group issued the following statement in response to the LPSC's decision, "We are disappointed with the LPSC's decision, which we believe fails to acknowledge the benefits this transaction would have provided to all Cleco stakeholders. We will review our options regarding this decision."
