Cleco restores power to 83 percent of customers impacted by Arthur
Some customers will be without power overnight
As of 6 p.m. today, Cleco has restored power to 83% of the 12,647 customers who lost power during Tropical Storm Arthur.
“We’ve made significant progress, but some customers in Bunkie, Mansura and Slidell will be without power overnight,” said Clint Robichaux, director of distribution operations and reliability. “Crews are removing downed trees, broken poles and downed power lines. However, the constant rain and flooded roadways have made it difficult to access certain areas and complete the necessary repairs. They will continue working throughout the evening where conditions are safe to do so.”
Avoyelles and St. Tammany remain the hardest hit parishes in Cleco’s service area. According to the National Weather Service, Avoyelles Parish received between 20 and 29 inches of rain from midnight to 3 p.m.
