PINEVILLE, La. – Cleco expects to restore power late this afternoon to approximately 285 customers in Grant and Rapides parishes who were affected by yesterday’s severe thunderstorm.

“Along with local and out-of-town Cleco crews, contractor crews are working to restore power to 240 customers in Grant Parish and 45 customers in Rapides Parish,” said Anthony Bunting, vice president of transmission and distribution operations. “Weather permitting, we expect power to be fully restored to these customers by this afternoon.”

In addition, Cleco continues to monitor and respond to rising water levels in these parishes where 238 customers are currently without power due to flooding.

“We are closely watching the flood-prone areas of Rigolette and Palmer Chapel Road in Rapides Parish, as well as Nantachie Lake and Iatt Lake in Grant Parish,” said Bunting. “As water levels increase to unsafe levels, we will be disconnecting power. Power will be restored when the water recedes to a safe level.”

Cleco reminds customers to use caution and to report unsafe conditions by calling 1-800-622-6537 or 911. And for real-time outage and restoration information, visit www.cleco.com.
