Follow Cleco on Facebook this hurricane season
PINEVILLE, La. – With the 2018 Hurricane Season predicted by forecasters to be more active than usual, Cleco encourages customers and media personnel to follow the company’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ClecoPower for the latest updates on storm preparation tips, safety messaging, outage information, restoration efforts and more.
“Cleco’s Facebook page offers another way for Cleco customers and media outlets to receive Cleco news and to interact with us in real-time,” said Jennifer Cahill, Cleco public relations manager. “This is especially helpful during hurricane season in the event that a storm makes landfall in Cleco’s service territory.”
In addition to offering customers the most up-to-date information on storms, Cleco’s Facebook page highlights Cleco’s community involvement, offers conservation tips and provides other company news.
Cleco posts, monitors and responds to questions and comments Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During extreme weather events, the company will monitor and update the page between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Cleco reminds its customers to report unsafe electrical situations to 911 and Cleco at 1-800-622-6537. Outages should be reported by calling Cleco or MyAccount users can text “OUT” to 25326. For real-time outage information and restoration efforts, customers and media personnel can visit Cleco’s Storm Center page at outage.cleco.com.
“Cleco’s Facebook and Storm Center pages allows us to connect with our customers and communities, especially during times of emergencies, such as a hurricane,” said Cahill.
