Company offers estimated times for restoration

PINEVILLE, La. – Oct. 12, 2020 (3 p.m. update)
– As of 3 p.m. today, Cleco had restored power to 110,406, or 84 percent, of the more than 132,000 customers since Hurricane Delta made landfall Friday.

“As progress continues, we’re reminding customers to stay away from downed trees with power lines that may be on or near their property,” said James Lass, director of distribution operations and emergency management.  “Don’t attempt to remove a tree from a power line because the line may not be grounded and de-energized.  If the line is not de-energized, this could cause serious injuries or death.  No one should ever assume that a power line is dead.  Never, ever touch low hanging or downed power lines.”

Damage Assessment
Thus far, workers have found 172 downed or broken poles, 522 downed or broken crossarms, 45 miles of power lines down, 676 trees on power lines and 59 damaged transformers.  With system damage assessment and restoration efforts ongoing, these numbers may increase.
