Power restored to 93 percent of customers affected by Hurricane Delta

PINEVILLE, La. – Oct. 13, 2020 (noon) – As of noon today, Cleco had restored power to 122,564, or 93 percent, of the more than 132,000 customers who lost power due to Hurricane Delta. 

“Hurricane Delta was a strong storm that impacted our entire service area, resulting in nearly half of our entire customer base losing power,” said James Lass, director of distribution operations and emergency management.  “Additionally, flooding and high water have been challenging throughout our Delta storm restoration.”

Restoration Assessment
Below are estimated times for restoration (ETR) in parishes impacted by Hurricane Delta.  More ETRs will be shared, as they become available.  Please note that unexpected damage or inclement weather could impact restoration efforts and timelines. 

Grant Parish

  • Colfax near Iatt Lake area
    • ETR for customers from Luther to J.D. Camp Road is Tuesday, Oct. 13
  • Bentley
    • ETR for customers on Hardy Bilba and Rock Hill Road is Tuesday, Oct. 13.
    • ETR for customers on Stuart Lake Road is Tuesday, Oct. 13.
    • ETR for customers on Rob Wallace Road and Albert Rambo Road is Tuesday, Oct. 13.
    • ETR for customers on Dyson Creed Road is Tuesday, Oct. 13.
    • ETR for customers in Hillview subdivision is Wednesday, Oct. 14.
    • ETR for customers in the Williana area on Liberty Chapel Road and Military Road is Thursday, Oct. 15.
  • Flatwoods area
    • ETR for customers on Pinegrove Church Road is Tuesday, Oct. 13.
  • Gardner area
    • ETR for customers in the Gardner, Otis, Wilda and Cotile Lake area is Wednesday, Oct. 14.
  • Hineston area
    • ETR for customers in the Hineston area that includes Union Hill Road, Seiper, Elmer, Lisso, Melder and Calcasieu communities is Wednesday, Oct. 14.  Note that these areas experienced flooding. 

Acadia Parish

  • Crowley – Power was restored to the hospital and nursing home last night, Monday, Oct. 12.  Crews are working and restoration efforts continue.  Crews anticipate restoring power to some customers today.  However, some customers will remain without power overnight.

    St. Landry Parish

  • Opelousas – Crews are making progress.  In addition to crews already working in the area, Cleco is bringing in more crews.  Restoration continues, yet some customers will be without power overnight. 

     

    Vernon Parish

  • Leesville
    • Timber Ridge subdivision ETR is Tuesday, Oct. 13. 

       

    Beauregard Parish

  • Merryville – Crews restored power to 600 customers today, Tuesday, Oct. 13. 
  • Crews are working in the Starks and Almaden communities. 
  • Longville/Ragley – Right-of-way crews are working today, Tuesday, Oct. 13.  Line crews to start restoration and repairs tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 14.  Using airboats in the Calcasieu River area. 

     

    Calcasieu Parish

  • Dequincy
    • Crews will be working tomorrow morning in the Green Island community. 
    • Power should be restored to West Park subdivision today, Tuesday, Oct. 13. 

     

    St. Mary Parish, St. Martin and Iberia Parishes

  • Power has been restored to all customers who can accept power.
