PINEVILLE, La. – Sept. 7, 2021 (12 p.m.) – As of noon today, Cleco has restored power to roughly, 88,022, or 90 percent, of the 97,773 customers in St. Tammany and Washington parishes who lost electricity due to Hurricane Ida.

“We ask for, and appreciate, our customers’ patience and understanding, as we work to wrap up our restoration efforts this week, said Clint Robichaux, manager of distribution operations support.  ”

Instructions for Customers who need a Reconnect after Repairs
If there is any damage to a customer’s home or business or to the electrical service entrance that may pose a danger if power is restored, Cleco cannot energize the service until repairs are made by a licensed electrician.  Once repairs are made, the electrician should call the appropriate governing authority for instructions regarding permitting and inspections.

Road Closure to Repair Powerlines

  • St. Tammany residents should be aware of a scheduled road closure which began today, Tuesday, Sept. 7, so crews can complete necessary repairs to powerlines damaged during Hurricane Ida.
  • Riverside Dr. off U.S. Hwy. 190 near Covington will be completely blocked off. This roadway is extremely narrow, and there is significant damage to the powerlines in this area.
  • Since the necessary work requires the roadway to be completely closed, Cleco has developed a schedule of times when work will cease, and the roadway will be open to allow traffic to pass in and out of the neighborhood.
  • Work will begin daily at 8:30 a.m. and stop at dark, at which time the roadway will be open until the next morning. The roadway also will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for work breaks.
