Projects power restoration to at least half of remaining customers in Slidell by end of day

PINEVILLE, La. – April 12, 2024 (1 p.m.) – Morning assessments by Cleco indicate that power will be restored to all Opelousas customers and at least half of the 7,000 remaining customers in Slidell by the end of day today.

Slidell customers on Rats Nest Road, Carr Drive and West End Blvd. are expected to have power restored early this afternoon.

“As the day goes on, we’ll have a better idea of restoration times for the remaining 3,500 customers in Slidell, but we do anticipate some customers will remain without power overnight,” said Clint Robichaux, director of distribution operations and reliability. “We understand the inconvenience to our customers. As Cleco employees we not only work here in Louisiana but live here too and have also been impacted by storms. We know it’s not easy and we thank our customers for their patience as we work to safely restore power to our communities.”

In addition to Cleco personnel, the company has added 360 line mechanics and vegetation specialists to help with power restoration efforts in Slidell.
