Cleco partners with the Samaritan Center for ‘Done in a Day’

Apr 28, 2025

Today, Cleco employees volunteered at the Samaritan Center in Mandeville as part of the company’s Done in a Day program.

Cleco’s Done in a Day program furthers the company’s partnerships with charitable organizations across its service territory, as well as provides an opportunity for its employees to get involved in the community. Through the program, Cleco works with charitable organizations who request assistance with a project that can be completed within one day or a few hours.

The Samaritan Center serves local families through its food pantry, and by providing clothes and emergency assistance. Volunteers helped to beautify the building by gardening, landscaping and pressure washing.

“April is National Volunteer Month, and working together with a charitable organization is the best way to celebrate,” said Colie Plaster, communications representative at Cleco and Done in a Day program coordinator.

“Thanks to our volunteers, The Samaritan Center is able to serve and impact more than 2,000 families annually with emergency assistance for food, clothing, shelter and utilities. Without these valuable volunteers we could not reach our mission,” said Dena Grosart, director of the Samaritan Center.
