Through the company’s Power of a Promise scholarship program, Cleco Power awarded scholarships to Tioga High School seniors Dedrick Bonck and Josiah Gypin and Pine Prairie High School senior Draylin Freeman.

The Power of a Promise scholarship, established in 2020, is awarded annually to qualifying high school seniors interested in entering the workforce after graduation and obtaining an Industrial Manufacturing Technology associate degree at Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC). Recipients must demonstrate high academic performance, financial need, personal accomplishments and community service.

"By covering tuition and offering a paid apprenticeship at our Brame Energy Center, we're not only easing the financial burden but also providing real-world experience. Our goal is to help students build meaningful careers, and we actively consider scholarship recipients for full-time roles after graduation."

Cleco established the Power of a Promise scholarship to help fund training, curriculum development and scholarships at CLTCC, as well as create educational and career opportunities for students in Louisiana.
