Cleco employees volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club in Slidell
Cleco employees volunteered at the Slidell Unit of the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Louisiana as part of the company’s Done in a Day program.
Cleco’s Done in a Day program furthers the company’s partnerships with charitable organizations across its service territory, as well as provides an opportunity for its employees to get involved in the community. Through the program, Cleco works with charitable organizations who request assistance with a project that can be completed within one day or a few hours.
The Boys & Girls Club of Metro Louisiana encourages young people to reach their full potential by providing after-school and summer programs with an emphasis on academic success, healthy lifestyles and good character and citizenship.
Cleco volunteers repainted the club’s hallways and program areas to give the space a fresh and welcoming feel for the upcoming after-school programs.
“Community volunteers like those from Cleco play a vital role in helping us create a welcoming, safe and inspiring environment for our youth,” said Denise Joseph, club director. “Their support allows us to focus our resources on programming that builds character, leadership, and academic success. Partnerships like this truly help us fulfill our mission of serving kids and families who need us most."
“The Done in a Day program brings Cleco employees together to support our communities,” said Colie Plaster, communications representative at Cleco and Done in a Day program coordinator.
