Cleco employees donated over $70,000 on Giving Tuesday

Dec 29, 2025

In celebration of Giving Tuesday, Cleco employees raised $73,106.03 in 24 hours for 71 different nonprofit organizations across Louisiana.

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement created in 2012 to encourage people to do good. It is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving as a day for people and organizations to come together to support causes meaningful to them through volunteerism, fundraising and more.

“Last year, our employees raised over $65,000 and this year they exceeded the $70,000 goal,” said Colie Plaster, communications representative at Cleco. “Giving Tuesday is just one of the ways Cleco employees support their Louisiana communities throughout the year.”

In addition to Giving Tuesday, Cleco and its employees have donated over $100,000 in 2025 and volunteered nearly 5,000 hours.  Cleco employees also organized the 8th Annual Cleco Charitable Golf Tournament in November which raised more than $80,000 to benefit Dreams Come True of Louisiana, an organization that grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.

“We are deeply grateful for Cleco’s incredible generosity,” said Becky Prejean, executive director or Dreams Come True of Louisiana. “Every dollar raised represents hope, joy and unforgettable experiences for these children and their families, and we couldn’t do it without partners like Cleco.”

Cleco is committed to supporting and strengthening communities within its 24-parish service area by facilitating employee donations and volunteer events.
