Cleco crews have restored power to 20 percent of customers
Cleco and contractor crews have restored power to 20 percent of the nearly 17,000 customers who lost power following Winter Storm Fern.
“In addition to all Cleco personnel, we have continued to add resources throughout the day and we now have 600 additional contractors helping our Cleco team,” said Clint Robichaux, director of distribution operations and reliability.
Winter Storm Fern Power Outages as of 2 p.m.
| Parish | Number of customers without power |
|---|---|
| Avoyelles | 1,089 |
| Desoto | 4,195 |
| Grant | 2,334 |
| Natchitoches | 93 |
| Rapides | 1,221 |
| Red River | 1,280 |
| Sabine | 3,132 |
| St. Tammany | 63 |
| Vernon | 46 |

“The main reason for power outages is heavy, snow- and ice-laden tree limbs sagging, and in some instances, falling into power lines,” said Robichaux. “We want to remind our customers to be aware of and stay away from power lines on the ground. These lines could be energized and dangerous.”
