Cleco celebrates National Volunteer Month with more than 1,100 service hours

Apr 30, 2024

During the month of April, which was National Volunteer Month, Cleco employees volunteered more than 1,100 hours across 23 organizations in the Louisiana, including the Pineville Animal Shelter, the Eunice Community Garden, Manna House and the Crooked Creek Recreational Area.

“In addition to the National Volunteer Month, Cleco hosts 12 Done in a Day volunteer projects a year. Done in a Day projects are projects that can be completed in one day or a few hours for non-profits located in Cleco’s service territory,” said Madeline Ducote, communications representative and volunteer program coordinator at Cleco. “These projects provide our employees the opportunity to give back to the communities around the state where they live and work.”

In 2023, Cleco employees volunteered nearly 5,000 hours at more than 60 non-profit organizations in Louisiana.

“Our dedication to volunteerism at Cleco shows that we’re committed to our communities,” said Louis Guidry, director of transmission and distribution maintenance and 2023 Cleco volunteer of the year. “We look at our communities that we work in, live in and serve and we know that by helping those communities, we can make them stronger.”

If a non-profit located in Cleco’s 24 parish service territory needs volunteers or believes they qualify for a Done in a Day project, they can email [email protected] to request assistance.
